Administration

On the twelfth day of October 1899, Probate of this Will was granted at Leicester to John Wheelwright and Adeline Mason (wife of John Henry Mason) the Executors.

Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Priestnal of St. Saviours Hill, in the County Borough of Leicester, Gentleman. I appoint my friend John Wheelwright of Leicester aforesaid, Solicitors Managing Clerk and Adeline Mason, wife of John Henry Mason of St. Saviours Hill aforesaid Executors hereof. I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. I desire to be buried with plainness and privacy yet in a respectable and decent manner. I give and bequeath the following legacies namely To my sister Ann, widow of the late George Yeomans one hundred and fifty pounds, To each of my nieces and nephews hereinafter named viz Elizabeth, wife of Frederick Lander, Mary Ann, wife of Arthur Clark (the two daughters of the said Ann Yeomans) Ellen, wife of Joseph Fryer, Ellen, wife of Sidney Lowe, Elizabeth, William, Alice (widow of the late Lewis Wright), Emma, Alfred, Ellen, James and John (the eight children of my late brother William Priestnal) eighty pounds and to my executor the said John Wheelwright the sum of ten pounds (the latter free of duty). I give devise and bequeath all my real estate and the residue of my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto the said Adeline Mason for her own use and benefit absolutely.
I revoke all former Wills and testamentary dispositions and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this nineteenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and ninety nine.

Signed by the testator John Priestnall as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and that of each other all present at the same time have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
